Breastfeeding with a Momzelle nursing top on Dragons' Den

First of all, I want to thank you all for your amazing support. I have received an overwhelming response after my apparition on the Dragons' Den show on CBC  Wednesday  March 3rd 2010 and this has proven to be extremely positive and encouraging. I am really glad that they chose to present both breastfeeding and the Momzelle nursing tops in a positive light.

Erin, the mom who was breastfeeding on TV, in front of millions, did an amazing job, and so did her very cute baby (now almost a year old, can you believe it?).

I am super proud and I want to say that all this would not have been possible without the help and love of my brother and business partner Vincent Poirier, who has encouraged, supported and worked with me since the very  beginning of Momzelle.

Nothing makes me happier than knowing that our nursing clothing business inspires and empowers other women.

On Monday, March 8th, the National Post will publish an article following-up on the deal I made with Brett Wilson. A photographer came to the office yesterday and took a few pictures. I was so busy when he arrived that I did not even take the time to look at myself in the mirror!  I wonder what the picture will look like... Natural, that's for sure!

NOTE: the article was published, here is a link to it.

Also, here is a little article that I wrote for the Yummy Mummy Club, describing how I felt a few days before the airing of the episode.

Great job! And thanks for posting this. I'm a US reader of your blog and don't have any channels that show Dragon's Den. I was so disappointed that I wasn't going to get to see it, but I just watched it on my iPod touch while nursing my son :)

That's brilliant!! Congratulations to you and Vincent. You did such a great job in front of those dragons! They had some lovely things to say about you and Momzelle too. Erin's baby was just gorgeous - totally blissful about the whole experience.

Hope the Dragon's Den experience helps spread the word about Momzelle - just to let you know the tops are being very well received by Bella Mama customers over here in the UK!!

I have one of your tops and I love it! I bought it at the Toronto Baby Show after the birth of my second daughter. And I was very happy to see such a positive response to breastfeeding on the show. Way to go!

When you spoke of its length of use fullness I so wanted you to speak of the WHO's recommendation of EXCLUSIVE breastfeeding for six months and then continuing to up to two years and beyond. As a mother who is still breastfeeding my 21 mos old daughter, the tops usefulness is still there!

Great job and I recommend your product to all nursing mamas!

Hi Laura, thank you for your comment. I know, this is so frustrating! I swear I did say the whole WHO recommendation during the taping. I also spoke about what "exclusive" meant: no water, no cereals, etc., but they cut that part when editing the segment... It's too bad, but at least overall breastfeeding got positive vibes!

I was so excited to see Momzelle on Dragon's Den while breastfeeding my 1 1/2 week old baby girl!!!! I had seen the tops on mybumpmaternity and have been wanting to order one when I got the chance. I am a fashion designer and before discovering Momzelle this was the kind of top I was dreaming about! Congratulations!!!!! I can't wait to try out the product. If there was ever an opportunity to work with you one day I would love it!

That's really neat, thank you Lisa. I am so surprised by the number of breastfeeding mothers who were watching the show! Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl, only one week and a half, that is so exciting! I'm glad you found us now, the nursing tops will be useful for a long time.
