I really like this image. I do not know who drew it, but if you do, please let me know as I’d like to give credit for it. This weekend was my daughter’s birthday, and guess what she preferred, out of all the presents that she received? Blowing the candles on the cake and being sang Happy Birthday by her friends and family. This made me realize even more that there is nothing like the love we provide our little ones with.

Have a nice week everyone!

Breastfeeding on the news – L’allaitement dans les nouvelles

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Rebecca, from the blog Playground Confidential, was the first to cover the story of  the Momzelle facebook page being shut down by Facebook.  You can read it here:

http://playgroundconfidential.com/2010/11/10/facebook-deletes-nursing-wear-page/

I have created a new page for Momzelle, you can now become a fan (or “like” the page), here. Instead of “Momzelle Breastfeeding Apparel”, it is now Momzelle – Breastfeeding in public, naturally.

Yesterday afternoon was spent sending press releases to various media. I was hopeful that it would make waves and educate some people about breastfeeding! I guess I can say it’s working. The story is making the news. #1 Breastfeeding story on Twitter, on Salut, bonjour morning show, Cyberpresse, etc.

I wish I could reply individually to all the new people who have joined the new Momzelle Facebook page to show their support. This is amazing. In less than 24 hours, we already have  over 1000 fans.

Go breastfeeding moms!

OMG, Facebook just erased the Momzelle Facebook page!

Monday, November 8th, 2010

I am speechless. How could the Momzelle Breastfeeding Apparel Facebook page be considered offensive? The pictures that were posted were certainly not obscene. We can’t even tell that mothers are breastfeeding when they use a Momzelle nursing top! I just wrote to the Facebook administration as I believe they made a mistake and I hope they will reply shortly.  I was already a member of the group “Hey Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene”, but I never thought that “my” pictures would be taken down, let alone the whole Facebook page promoting public breastfeeding.

I feel like I was told to get out of a public space because I was breastfeeding, no matter how discreet I was being. It is really really really hard not to feel offended.

What would you do if Momzelle was your business? Would you send a press release to the media? I wish this was not happening…

New resource for parents and wanna-be-parents in Toronto

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Hello! I had the great pleasure to meet Natasha Marchand about one year ago at one of Toronto’s Baby and me fitness class. She was giving a cardio-fitness class to a group of pregnant ladies and I came in to lead a discussion beforehand about breastfeeding (that is how the Baby and me fitness classes work: 30 min. of discussion/sharing before the physical activities start). Natasha was fabulous: soft, well spoken, the kind of person you meet and who instantly makes you feel relaxed and whole. As a doula and Hypno birth instructor, she partnered up with three other fabulous women to start a business called Bebo Mia. They offer all kinds of services to new parents and wanna-be-parents in the GTA. If you’re in Toronto, looking for a doula, for a yoga class, or for fertility and parenting advice, I recommend looking them up.
