Breastfeeding quote of the day

Monday, July 19th, 2010

I do not know many mothers who have breastfed their children past the 3 year mark (I’m not talking about breastfeeding different children one after the other; I know some mothers who have been breastfeeding for six years or more!). Those who do so probably do not need to read the following quote, although a little tap in the back once in a while can be encouraging. So, for those who wonder if breastfeeding past “x” (fill in the number) month/year will is spoiling their child, this quote is for you. Everybody else, enjoy:

There is no upper limit to the duration of breastfeeding and no evidence of psychologic or developmental harm from breastfeeding into the third year of life or longer.
