World Breastfeeding Week 2023

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month.  The aim is to promote community and professional support for new mothers.  The month kicks off with World Breastfeeding Week, August 1st-7th.

The theme for this year's World Breastfeeding Week is breastfeeding and employment/work. It will showcase the impact of paid leave, workplace support and emerging parenting norms on breastfeeding through the lens of parents themselves, as per the WBW website

More than half a billion working women lack basic maternity provisions; and many more find themselves without support when they return to work.
